Welcome to Simple Balance Nutrition!

I am Ye, MSc, RD – a registered dietitian, nutritionist, foodie, yogi, wife and working mom. I was born and raised in Malaysia. I’ve completed my Bachelor of Science in Nutrition at Acadia University (in Canada) and then went to earn a Master of Science in Applied Human Nutrition at Mount Saint Vincent University (in Canada). After graduated, I have the opportunity to work as an outpatient dietitian, I practice in the areas of chronic disease prevention and healthy weight loss.

The inspiration for starting this website came from my little boy, Aiden. After he was born, I was invited to join some Facebook mummy groups. There is so much misleading information about food, diet and nutrition out there. So I decided to start this website to share my professional experiences as a dietitian and my personal experiences as a mother. With this blog, I will be discussing nutrition topics and providing yummy recipes. Here you’ll find simple, healthy recipes that the whole family will enjoy, along with practical nutrition advices.

My goal is to give you the tools and tips you need to make the best choices for yourself and your families. Most information that I provided and learned is still very much Western-centric and I will try to provide relevant information focus on Malaysian Mothers.

I’m multilingual – fluent in English and Mandarin. I also have a wide knowledge of Asian food culture and beliefs.
